CMDR : ಬಹುಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ವಿಕಾಸ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ (CMDR) - ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತ ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿ (ICSSR), ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ,ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.

ಬಹುಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ವಿಕಾಸ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ (CMDR) 1976 ರಿಂದ ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾಯತ್ತ ಲಾಭರಹಿತ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು 1980ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಂದಾಯಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ - ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನವನ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಆಯಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಬಹುಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಯ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ, ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವೀಕೆಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಗುರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

CMDR ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯು ಸಮರ್ಪಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ತಂಡದ ಸಲಹೆಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಿತವಾಗಿ . ನಗರ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಯೋಜಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾರವಾಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ-ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ತಳಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಲು ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ-ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲು ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದೆ . CMDR ನ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸಲು ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ರಚಿಸಿದ ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತ ಉನ್ನತ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾದ ನವದೆಹಲಿಯ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಿಂದ (ICSSR), CMDR ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

Centre for Multi-disciplinary Development Research (CMDR) is an autonomous social science research institute recognised and financially supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Education, Government of India as well as Government of Karnataka.

The Centre for Multi-disciplinary Development Research (CMDR) has been functioning since 1976 as an autonomous non-profit research organization. The genesis of CMDR can be attributed to the foresight and advice of a band of dedicated and eminent social scientists in the country. The aims and objectives of the Centre include conducting research on developmental issues that are relevant at regional, national, and global levels. The approach of analysis is usually a multi-disciplinary framework, covering social, economic, political, and cultural dimensions of human behaviour. The Centre is also known for its action research. In addition, there is an attempt to judiciously combine theoretical perspectives and empirical realities in the analysis of developmental issues.

Setting up of CMDR was inspired by the advice of a band of dedicated and eminent social scientists. Being located in Dharwad, which combines both urban and semi-rural features, the Centre has the unique advantage of providing a suitable environment for the analysis of the socio-economic problems of the rural people and regional economy at the grass root level. Hitherto, there has been an unusual concentration of research institutions in urban and metropolitan areas in the country. Further, there is no adequate effort made to induct multi-disciplinary approach in the analysis of the socio-economic problems of the people. In North Karnataka, there is a significant scope for strengthening the institutional infrastructure for conducting socio-economic analysis of regional problems. Considering these needs and the unique features of CMDR, the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, an all India apex body created by Govt. of India to promote social science research in the country, recognized CMDR as a national level research institute for social science research.

यह एक स्वायत्त सामाजिक विज्ञान अनुसंधान संस्थान है, जिसे भारतीय सामाजिक विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (ICSSR), शिक्षा मंत्रालय,भारत सरकार, भारत सरकार और कर्नाटक सरकार द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त है और आर्थिक रूप से समर्थन दिया जाता है।

बहुशास्त्रीय विकास अनुसंधान केंद्र (CMDR) 1976 से धारवाड़ में एक स्वायत्त, गैर-लाभकारी अनुसंधान संस्थान के रूप में कार्य कर रहा है। इसे 1980 में सोसाइटी पंजीकरण अधिनियम के तहत पंजीकृत किया गया था। यह अनुसंधान केंद्र सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास से संबंधित विषयों पर शोध करता है और मानव व्यवहार के आर्थिक, सामाजिक, राजनीतिक और सांस्कृतिक आयामों को शामिल करने वाले बहुशास्त्रीय ढांचे के अंतर्गत स्थानीय, क्षेत्रीय और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर विकेंद्रीकृत योजनाओं को विकसित करने के उद्देश्य से कार्य करता है।

CMDR की स्थापना समर्पित और प्रसिद्ध समाज वैज्ञानिकों की टीम की सलाह से प्रेरित होकर की गई थी। शहरी और ग्रामीण विशेषताओं को समाहित करने के उद्देश्य से धारवाड़ में स्थित यह संस्थान सामाजिक-आर्थिक समस्याओं के विश्लेषण और क्षेत्रीय अर्थव्यवस्था की जमीनी स्तर पर समीक्षा करने के लिए उपयुक्त वातावरण प्रदान करने का एक अनूठा लाभ रखता है। क्षेत्रीय समस्याओं के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विश्लेषण के लिए बुनियादी ढांचे को सशक्त बनाने में यह संस्थान महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है।

CMDR की विशिष्ट विशेषताओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए, भारत सरकार द्वारा समाज विज्ञान अनुसंधान को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए स्थापित अखिल भारतीय उच्च संस्था, नई दिल्ली स्थित भारतीय सामाजिक विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (ICSSR) ने इसे राष्ट्रीय स्तर के समाज विज्ञान अनुसंधान संस्थान के रूप में मान्यता प्रदान की है।
